Dr. Tae-Youl Choi
Originally from South Korea, Dr. Tae-Youl Choi attended Seoul National University in 1994 for his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and again in 1997 for his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Choi also attended the University of California, Berkeley in 2002 for his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. After receiving his degree, Dr. Choi worked as a visiting post-doctoral researcher in the mechanical engineering department at Berkeley until later working as a lecturer and senior scientist in the mechanical and process engineering department at ETH Zurich.

Dr. Choi later became assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Engineering at the University of North Texas in 2006 until becoming his current role of associate professor in the same field in 2012. Currently, Professor Choi is conducting research pertaining to the incorporation of nano-materials in FDM filaments as a way to both improve and strength the mechanical properties of the filament. Dr. Choi has received countless amounts of funding, grants, and has created several patents in the field of mechanical engineering.
